About SKAID
SKAID Foundation (Southern Kaduna Foundation) is an independent non-profit organization set up to promote sustainable development within the Southern Kaduna region via special interventions aimed at meeting key development challenges within the region. A key component of the foundations focus is in the area of education via award of scholarships to undergraduate students within the region.
About the Scholarship
SKAID Scholars Award Scholarship will be awarded for the length of undergraduate study until graduation to qualified students from Southern Kaduna with the aim of raising a new crop of leaders. SKAID Scholars Award will cover a wide range of expenses associated with pursuing education, this includes tuition fees, educational materials such as textbooks, transportation costs, and other ancillary expenses such as accommodation and feeding. By alleviating the financial burden associated with education, the foundation aims to remove barriers and create equal opportunities for all students.
In addition to financial assistance, scholarship beneficiaries will be provided with mentorship and guidance to support their academic and personal development. Each student is assigned a volunteer counselor/mentor who provides ongoing support, academic advice, career counseling, and personal development guidance. This mentorship ensures that students receive holistic support tailored to their individual needs, helping them navigate challenges and achieve academic success.
The foundation will implement a robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track the progress and impact of its scholarship program. This includes monitoring academic performance, collecting feedback from students and mentors, and assessing long-term outcomes such as graduation rates and career success. By continuously evaluating program effectiveness, the foundation can identify areas for improvement and ensure that its scholarships have a meaningful and sustainable impact on the lives of beneficiaries.
Selection Criteria & Requirements
- Applicants must be indigenes of Southern Kaduna
- Applicants must have secured an admission in the year of application
- Applicants who have already obtained admissions must be currently having a CGPA of at least 3.0
- Applicants must be studying or intend to study an undergraduate course in any of the NUC Accredited Universities in Nigeria
- Submit a 5,000-word essay on why He/She should be considered for the Scholarship
- Submit a Vision Plan on how She/he will contribute to the Southern Kaduna Community after graduation.
- Letter of Recommendation from the Village Head/District Head
- WAEC/NECO Results
- JAMB Results
- Admission Letter

Applications commence from July 29th to August 19th, 2024.
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted and invited for further interviews.
