Bridging Healthcare Gaps in Kwoi

SKAID Provides Free Medical Services to Kwoi Community in Southern Kaduna

SKAID Foundation third Medical Outreach at the Child Welfare Health Centre in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area, brought transformative healthcare to over 1,000 residents during a two-day blitz of surgeries, eye care, distribution of free medications and community health education. .This initiative directly aligns with our strategic goal of complementing governmental healthcare efforts, particularly in regions with limited access to medical facilities and resources

At the launch, the Executive Director emphasized that the initiative was designed to complement government efforts in improving healthcare access, particularly in rural areas. He stated that the Foundation is here to help bridge the healthcare gap in this community as well as reiterated the NGO’s commitment to public health improvement through preventive care, access to treatment, and community health education. He called on partners and philanthropists to join and support SKAID’s commitment to sustainable and community-driven intervention within the Southern Kaduna region.

Commending SKAID for its humanitarian efforts, the Kpop Ham, Dr. Danladi Maude, represented by the Galadiman Jaba, Kyom Maigari, encouraged other individuals and organizations to emulate the foundation’s commitment to community welfare. Ruth Yohanna, one of the beneficiaries during the outreach recounted her daughter’s seven-year struggle with huge umbilical hernia. Despite seeking treatment at multiple hospitals and even resorting to traditional remedies, their efforts had proven futile. Ruth expressed gratitude for the opportunity her daughter now has to live a healthier, more productive life and extended her wishes for the Foundation’s continued success in its mission.

Over the course of the outreach, we achieved 72 life-changing surgeries with zero intraoperative complications, 473 eye patients screened, 62 sight-restoring surgeries, and 461 glasses dispensed and 593 beneficiaries empowered with free medications and health education.
