As part of its mandate to bridge healthcare gaps in underserved communities, the Foundation recently concluded a two-day medical outreach program in Kubacha, Kagarko Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State. Building on its mission to foster healthier communities, the initiative provided critical healthcare services to over 1,000 residents, addressing acute medical needs while laying the groundwork for sustainable health interventions.
The program took place on February 21-22, 2025, at the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Centre, Kubacha . The Outreach saw overwhelming participation, with over 500 residents registered by midday on the first day. Beneficiaries such as Alhaji Musa and Rhoda Bitrus shared heartfelt testimonials, praising the initiative for offering free, high-quality care rarely accessible in the region. “This program has given my family hope,” said Bitrus. “We urge the government to partner with more organizations like SKaid to replicate this lifeline elsewhere.
Kagarko LGA Chairman, Hon. Muyideen Abdullahi Umar, applauded SKAid’s efforts, noting its alignment with government priorities. Represented by Councillor Saul Bayero, he emphasized:
SKAID’s Executive Director, Mr. Bello Bisalla, reiterated the Foundation’s holistic approach. He stated that, “While we address immediate needs today, our vision extends to long-term resilience as such, cases requiring advanced care are referred to specialized facilities, ensuring no patient is left behind.” He emphasized SKAID’s commitment to “creating opportunities for personal and communal growth,” linking health interventions to wider socioeconomic development.
This outreach marks the second phase of SKAid’s five-LGA initiative, following a successful launch in Zangon Kataf. Upcoming programs will expand to three additional regions.
